Kate immerses herself in the illustrative world of her "Little Doodles." Whether it be the clasp of a quirky handbag being sported by a fashionista on the streets to the perfect cupcake in a patisserie window, the little details that often pass people by play the biggest infleunce on Kate's work.

Inspiration Of The Day - MICHAEL SHAPCOTT -

MICHAEL SHAPCOTT  studied illustration for two years before switching to fine arts for the remainder of his studies at Paier College of Art in Hamden, Connecticut, graduating in 2007 with a diploma in Fine Arts. He`s  known for his daring color palette and emotionally charged portraits. His work deals with highly detailed graphite underdrawings which he then paints with colorful washes in oil and acrylic paints. He credits his education for basic technical experience but feels that only in breaking some of the traditional methods he was taught and experimenting on his own did he develop the confidence, unique voice and style he continues to expand upon today.

ALVARO TAPIA HIDALGO was born in Viña del Mar, Chile. He`s a graphic designer & filmmaker, currently living and working in Granada, Spain.

 

Inspiration of the Day - JENNY MORTSELL -

 JENNY MORTSELL is an illustrator from Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and design in 2004 and have since then been working full time doing illustrations for magazines, advertising, books and fashion as well as her own gallery exhibitions.

Jenny's artwork can be seen in such publications as The New York Times Magazine, NYLON, Elle, Bon, Cover and Lula. Her advertising clients include Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Whyred, Diesel, Phillip LIm, Taken By Trees and Systembolaget. She has also begun exhibiting her work in gallery shows.

She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

TONY ORRICO is artist, dancer, human spirograph. He uses his entire body as an instrument to create massive artworks, performing works for up to 4 hours continuously!. His work has recently been collected by the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. and commissioned by Flux/S at Strijp-S in Eindhoven, Netherlands and Dance Theater Workshop in New York City. Orrico is a former member of Shen Wei Dance Arts and Trisha Brown Dance Company, and recently performed in Marina Abramovic’s retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

You have to watch it to believe it. Human can do incredible things!.

CRISTIANO SIQUEIRA is illustrator from Sao Paulo Brazil. He a technical graduation in Communication Design, and started working with graphic design in books, magazines and CD covers. After years experience he finally felt confortable to start working by as a freelance, and chose to work with Illustrations, an old passion and his real skill. Since 2005 he`s an illustrator full time, working from his own small "home" office. Some of his Basil clients are Editora Globo, Editora Abril, Master Card, Azaléia. And his International clients are Sportfive Magazine, Microsoft, Nike, Playdom.

SANDRA FURMANEK is a 22 years old artist from Poland. She started draw in August 2009 and since then its her big passion. She think she`s amateur and not very good at this.

Inspirational Video Of The Day - KSENIYA SIMONOVA - Sand Animation (Ukraine's Got Talent)

KSENIYA SIMONOVA is the winner of 2009 Ukraine's Got Talent. She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII. She started drawings on the beach in 2008 and it all progressed to this. She has become an online sensation with more than twenty million hits on youtube.

MELISSA HASLAM graduated with a Bachelor of Computing (Multimedia Technology) from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. After working in computer graphics for a few years she found herself wanting to push her creative skills further and went back to school to study Visual Arts at RMIT, focusing on painting and drawing. With an emphasis on narrative theme and a romanticized, escapist view of the world, her paintings are populated by beautiful females in fairytale-like scenarios. Influences include botanical drawings, the pre-raphaelites, japanese illustration and contemporary fashion photography.
